I am stoked about this, but also it's been long enough that I feel like I should rewatch the earlier series first.

We watched the first two episodes last night and so far it seems to be taking a path less rich with connections to the prior two seasons, which was a relief as I too have forgotten most of that stuff.

Ok thanks for the confirmation, I thought that too but had binged the whole thing so wasn’t sure. The trailer also refreshed my memory a lot.

I'm digging it so far, but I must admit that I'm not having a real fun time with subtitles as I like to multitask and reading subtitles is the other task to multi.

I really like the misdirection of the Pearl being the epitome and final score, then the twist from the past. I was wondering what all the remaining episodes would be about.

Oh no, I am not okay with Diop selling out his only friend to "save" his mom. If he can do all this exemplary research and preparation for heists, he could do more to get his mom out than just mindlessly doing everything her "captor" tells him to. This has soured the whole thing for me.

The Ben thing sucked but at the same time if I was Ben I'd probably be willing to give Assane a couple of weeks to get me out of jail before wondering about how I got into this mess. This is entirely dependent on French jails and what kind of treatment Ben could expect in them though.

Did "Alex" look weird to anyone else?

Yes, Alex looks weird. I wondered if it was just the makeup and prosthetics or perhaps some CGI? We really didn’t like that Assane did that to Claire and Raoul or that they made Claire flirt with him, especially after he said no. Sadly, I think this series has run its course.
