Beacon 23: Wreckers

On the heels of Aster's discovery, Wreckers force their way onboard. Looking to steal a prize, the Wreckers have been told this beacon is carrying something special. Aster's only hope for survival is to find common ground with an enemy.

I'm trying to decide why the station has that grav null in the middle, and whether it's actually a "everything has a gravity vector towards the center of the station" or what. Still, nice to have some external threat and something to bring the main characters together.

I wasn't clear on the timeline here - the Wreckers seemed to be holding station in the debris field only to breach at a moment of maximum tension. So they were shadowing Aster's ship and knew it would explode then waited long enough for her to settle in?

Yeah, I wasn't clear on whether the brief shot of the wreckage field was all from whasshername's ship blowing up, or if Beacon 23 is in a particularly bad region of space and there are Space Shoals that ships keep running up against, so there was plenty of wreckage for the Wreckers to hide in and slowly sneak up on the Beacon.

From the dialogue, it sounds like they were informed of the ship crash in advance, but since the pickings were too slim decided to go to the beacon instead. It does imply that it was more than a simple malfunction - maybe the real beacon keeper was in on it?
