The hacking sequence was plausible. That's a serious rarity in a TV show! Although lax such lax security for the recordings is more in line with Motel 6 than with a billionaire's special Icelandic retreat.

"King of Tech" is overconfident that he's untouchable. Also seems to be more of a sales guy than a tech guy when it comes down to it. Steve Jobs couldn't hack things. Lee, on the other hand... she's the mystery I'm interested in far more than the murder.

The surprisingly realistic reverse engineering scene as Darby tries to extract the hotel’s device vlan WiFi credentials the smart lamp is basically what I did to load my own code onto Ikea light bulbs. First she removes the embedded controller board, then wires it to a raspberry pi clone to extract the firmware, loads the rom image into Hopper, but then the show biffs the landing with x86 opcodes.

The young, innovative Black filmmaker being super excited to collaborate with "AI" because it knows so much more than him really pissed me off. I'm hoping for a positive resolution to that particular story. Like the guy knows it's bullshit but is happy to take tech bro's money.
