The cross-fade between Kurt and Wyatt was AMAZING.

Appreciated the forward momentum of this episode.

I thought this episode was great. They recreated scenes from the faux archival footage shown in Godzilla, the ones about Castle Bravo, which I thought was a nice touch. I also liked the moment when Du-Ho realizes that the first airplane did not crash, that was a great dramatic reveal and it neatly pieced together the inconsistencies with the crash scene/base camp.

I also just love seeing Kurt Russel in anything, he's a lot of fun! I am assuming they are going to circle back on him being unnaturally youthful for someone who was around in the 1940s. Du-Ho was the second person to mention that he hasn't aged, so I'm wondering if it is going to be a thing.

This was easily the best episode so far. I'm hoping the show picks up its pace in general.

I think they're trying to do the "Jaws" thing where you don't see the monster, and all the while you build characters and tension. Except here the characters are flat and boring and there's no tension at all. The computer expert woman is such a stock/trope character that it verges into parody with her "hacking" scenes. Russel and his son are the only people who seem to be having fun at all. I won't judge the actors—maybe they are great and have huge talent. They just have nothing interesting to do, and the show feels like it's mostly treading water.

I want more monsters!

This needs to get sillier and stupider, fast, was my note after the episode. Godzilla vs. Kong had a giant radioactive ax. This needs more of that kind of thing. Agreed that Russel and his son are the best thing in it.

I want more monsters!

Agreed! We watched this and ep 4 tonight and I'm feeling like there's too much people, not enough monsters.

Me: I like this Du-Ho guy, but gosh, this ensemble keeps getting bigger.

Me at the end of the episode: Oh. A'ight. That problem solved.

This episode reminded me how much I've always appreciated Kurt Russell who actually looks and moves pretty good for a 72 year old. Watch out Harrison Ford!

I was not expecting mutant mole creature. I was excited at the name drop for Ken Watanabe's Serizawa who has about seven or so years left before going nuclear to save Godzilla in an underground temple.

They recreated scenes from the faux archival footage shown in Godzilla, the ones about Castle Bravo, which I thought was a nice touch.

I loved this.
