Hilda: Season 3
December 8, 2023 8:06 AM - Season 3 (Full Season) - Subscribe
A slightly older Hilda and the gang travel to Tofoten to visit Great-Aunt Astrid for a relaxing holiday —but adventure soon comes knocking at their door.
Was surprised when this showed up on my feed, thought it was finished. Really enjoyed this season.

I'm sorry trying to make this last a bit longer. Tofoten seems like a great tourist destination!

I’m pretty sure that the locals only promoted tourism so that the tourists would be the ones to be abducted by the fae instead of themselves.

Yeah, but please stay on the marked trails.
I'm now 3 episodes in. Ep 1 seemed a little bit sleepy, but Ep 3 was very intense.
My usual opinion is that any SFF stories where they have to fix the timeline can go cram it. So it was very satisfying that Hilda and Woodman were in the past of an alternate reality. This is how it always should be! A+ for Hilda.
(Also, that episode from season 2 where they had to fix the timeline was an A+ episode. I guess rules are just made to be broken by Hilda.)

Well, after three seasons and a movie, it has finally been explained why her hair is that color!

Episode 3 was pretty intense! I was very pleased to see the giants, and to hear their accents.

Finally saw all episodes. I think overall season 3 felt somehow less fresh than seasons 1 and 2, even if it was still some of the best TV ever.
S3E4 "The Laughing Merman" might have been the weakest of the whole run. I'd say this was a challenge to make the story about how a character is annoying without having the story itself being annoying. Furthermore, when the kids get to tell the merman that all rivers lead to the sea, I feel like it's only fair to point out that rivers don't much split as you go downstream. Not in this kind of mountainous territory, anyway. I'm a little disappointed that we never got to hear more from Louise.
S3E6 "The Forgotten Lake"--They've come up with some horrifying stuff before, but that monster was something else. Kind of a Miyazaki meets Nope.
S3E8 "The Fairy Isle"--Damn! What a satisfying conclusion. I take it that this part of the story hadn't been mapped out when season 1 started, but it so perfectly filled in the holes in Hilda's and Johanna's story. And the stakes just kept getting higher.
I think the Fairy Entity may have gotten a bit more than it bargained for with Victoria Van Gale.
