Abbott Elementary: Smoking

Things go completely to hell when one kid getting caught smoking leads to (a) realizing smoking isn't banned here, (b) the teachers are all filmed talking about all the pot/pot products/pinot grigio they consume...by a student, who of course blasts it online, (c) the requisite anti-drug presentation goes as lame as they ever do, (d) draconian mandates go down, searches happen, and teachers can't say anything but "just say no." In other news, Janine hates her sub.
Honestly, this one kind of blew me away? The "almost everyone is doing some kind of pot" thing surprised me. I have no idea if pot's legal where Abbott is, but TEACHERS admitting to edibles and vaping? At work? Holy SHIT. Janine, of all people, is doing edibles nightly to chill out. I also liked the students calling people out on their hypocrisy and that drugs aren't like, all horrible all the time, so.....? Yeah, it's hard to argue against medical marijuana, isn't it. And um, was Melissa applying CBD oil to Barbara at the end?
Gregory's smile about his "in with the district" was adorable.

Janine was just on the YouTube show called Hot Ones (an interview show where they eat progressively hotter wings with very well researched questions to answer), and I think she did great.

She’d turned down the show a few years ago as she doesn’t like spicy food, I think she did so well!

She was! I loved Gregory having a pot protein bar at the weekends, so on brand 😂

Aparna Nancherla killed it.
As soon as she started speaking, Mr. creepygirl said, "she's got to be a voiceover actress, she sounds so familiar."
It was nice to see her given some room to be funny in a live action role (I know her from her voiceover work as Hollyhock on Bojack and Moon on The Great North).
