[TRAILER] When young lovers Cecilia Tallis (Keira Knightley) and Robbie Turner (James McAvoy) are torn apart by a lie constructed by Cecilia's jealous younger sister, Briony (Saoirse Ronan), all three of them must deal with the consequences. Robbie is the hardest hit, since Briony's deception results in his imprisonment, but hope for Cecilia and her beau increases when their paths cross during World War II.

I saw this with my mother when it came out and I think it was one of my favorite movie going experiences. It was only later that I read the critical consensus wasn't as favorable as my opinion of it, but I thought it was so good. No shock though that I love Poirot and all the British estate fiction I can watch though.

Devastating film, so well made, but I avoided seeing Benedict Cumberbatch in anything for years after seeing this movie. Ugh. Repellent character.
