As reviews never tire of mentioning, this film came out in the same year as and had a co-star (Jean-Paul Belmondo) from Breathless. In that light, it looks old-fashioned (particularly the extremely abrupt ending), but reportedly Jean-Pierre Melville found it inspiring and cast Ventura in other films.
