This was the first movie I've seen in a theater since the pandemic. It was great!

Wow--incredible, trashy/pulpy in the best way. I'd had a crush on Katy O'Brian since seeing her in The Mandalorian, and she and Kristen Stewart burn holes in the screen. Not sure if I've ever seen Ed Harris play a villain, but he was great in this as well.

I'll watch anything A24 puts out, but the cinematography on this one's great. I especially loved all the shots of the starlit sky above the gym at night, making the whole scene look somehow like a one-act play/diorama.

That aesthetic really comes into play during the last few scenes of the movie -- excellent art direction to bring that theme around full circle in the end.

Now on HBO. This would make a great double feature with Bound. I wasn't expecting it to start off so steamy hot and then take such a dark turn.

Also, Halloween Jack, if you like Westerns and puzzle shows, check out the first two seasons of Westworld for great Ed Harris bad guy action. The 3rd and 4th seasons both have less Ed Harris and aren't nearly as good.

Saw this tonight. A nice dark trashy story. Maybe a little too pat but I'll take it. The first half or so goes along very nicely. I like that they end up dancing together in the red tinted murder world.

Among the many many things that impressed me about this movie, the spot-on and restrained use of Throbbing Gristle’s “Hamburger Lady” was fantastic. I don’t think I’ve ever heard it out of context before, and it was a singularly perfect needle drop.
