Suzume feels invisible and insignificant, lumbering through life like a turtle. She is then recruited into a spy agency. The spies, waiting for orders from above, strive to live their lives hidden in plain sight as ordinary, normal, even boring Japanese. Becoming a spy invigorates Suzume…

She learns how to dress, how to shop, even how to order off a menu in the incognito fashion of a spy. But when a body is found, the whole spy network—still waiting for orders to come from above—is put in danger of detection. Can Suzume save everyone with her new spy skills? An offbeat and relaxing comedy from 2005. Original Title: 亀は意外と速く泳ぐ. On YouTube, in Japanese with English captions (click [cc] button). Trailer.

"This is the best Ramen I've ever had!!"

Thanks for the recommendation. I never heard of this film, the director Satoshi Miki, or the lovely actress Juri Ueno. But it put a smile on my face from the opening frame to the very end. Highly enjoyable!

And, thanks to Tastedive, there are similar off the wall comedies, which I will watch next!
