?Oshi No Ko?: Release   Show Only
September 11, 2024 10:01 PM - Season 2, Episode 10 - Subscribe

Aqua and Taiki finish their cliffhangered conversation from last episode, and afterwards Aqua is left not knowing what to do next. Now that the Tokyo Blade arc has run its course, the spotlight moves back to Ruby and the revival of the pop idol group B-Komachi.

Taiki takes the revelation that Aqua is his half-brother in stride. He is willing to talk about their father, but first move the setting to his apartment because it's something he doesn't want to discuss in public.

After settling in at his place, Taiki reveals that their father was a third-rate actor named Seijuro Uehara, who was a serial philanderer and loved targeting peers in the entertainment industry. Aqua's plan for revenge evaporates into nothingness as he also learns that Seijuro committed suicide with his then-wife Airi Himekawa when Taiki was 5 years old.

Aqua returns home, to various expressions of concern from the three women in his life, Ruby, Kana, and Akane. He reflects on what to do with his life now that revenge is an impossibility, and wonders now if he's free to pursue his own happiness.

We then move onto Ruby, Kana, and Memcho brainstorming their next steps on how to gain more visibility as B-Komachi. Memcho is proud of the fact that she's gotten their channel up to 20K subscribers, but Kana complains that in their current situation they're only making a bit of pocket money for all of their efforts. Memcho has the idea to livestream their rooms for views, which Kana initially refuses but then agrees when she learns that everything in her room will then be able to be written off tax-wise as business expenses.

Memcho also floats the idea of shooting an actual music video, and has friends in Miyazaki that can help. Since Tokyo Blade is over, they decide that it would be fun to mix in a bit of pleasure with their work, and decide to stay a couple of extra days to relax. Aqua gets invited since he also has nothing to do now that Tokyo Blade is over.

Miyazaki is actually the town where Goro and Sarina died, the past lives of Aqua and Ruby. It looks like both of them may have to settle some unfinished business during their trip.

I haven't checked out the OnK manga, so I have no idea if they're going to rug-pull us on this, but I am very pleasantly surprised that the revenge arc has ended so abruptly and anticlimactically. I honestly expected this to be a running story line until the end of the show, but Aqua coming to terms with his second chance / new life and considering his own pursuit of happiness would be an interesting change of direction for the show.
