Really, since five cops got to hell, it's a feelgood movie.

This a crazy, crazy movie. Is there even any plot beyond "cops go to hell, weird stuff for the next hour"? Not that I was disappointed or anything, but if there's a story, I did not understand it. However, I was all in for the bonkers vibes.

His followup film, Housewife, is also pretty entertaining and weird, and has a story you can follow, assuming you can get on board with the Lynchian wavelength.

A year or so ago, back when I was still on Twitter, someone tweeted that the only logical way to make a sequel to Skinamarink was to do the Alien/Aliens trick, and have a platoon of Marines or a SWAT team storm the Skinamarink house and get systematically skinamarinked. I feel like this is that movie, only it was made a decade earlier, and it's from Turkey.

This is so great for a half hour. But then it goes into its weird unimaginably-bad-things-like-in-a-gnarly-horror-video-game-happening section and it's memorable but inexplicable.

I feel like this guy was a big fan of Reservoir Dogs. And Silent Hill? I don't know. It's a little on the pointless side, but I'll watch this again long before I rewatch any Alex Garland movie. (In truth, I won't rewatch this movie earlier, and I'm kind of mad at myself for forgetting that The Vourdalak is on Kanopy!)
