The Creep Tapes: Full season
December 20, 2024 5:28 AM - Season 1 (Full Season) - Subscribe
The Creep (he of Creep and Creep 2) returns to wreak havoc on unsuspecting strangers who, through a variety of machinations, are enticed (however grudgingly) to film his antics. Is it a disturbing found footage horror miniseries, or is it just the strangest sitcom of all time? Why not...both?
DOT, Shepherd got through two episodes before deciding that it was only okay. He felt that the conceit wasn't enough for him to stick around for all of them. (He has seen both films.)

It's not as good as the films, but it somehow doesn't diminish my enthusiasm for a third one, because there's really no reason why it couldn't be as good or better as the first two. The show is just kind of the Creep doing his thing, and because the episodes are all a uniform length, it quickly falls into a predictable rhythm. It's not a great show to binge, but it's fun to check in with. It really is basically a deeply messed up sitcom, and Duplass is extremely funny and enjoyable to watch.
I saw some Reddit chatter that was positive up until the last two episodes. This is precisely the opposite of my take on it. The last two episodes get really weird and hard to anticipate, and I found them much more engaging.

I watched Creep, liked it OK, but I’m a little weirded out that they made a series? What more can be done with the concept? To be fair, I could watch it and find out.

I watched both the movies, and didn’t really like them, mainly because I have an irrational dislike of Mark Duplass. Then I watched the first two episodes of the Creep Tapes and didn’t like them, mainly because the first one was a brief retread of the movies, and the second was a brief retread of the movies but much more contrived. I was fine with ignoring the rest of this series entirely, but now kittens for breakfast has made me want to watch the last two episodes. Kittens, would I need to have watched the episodes in the middle to fully appreciate the last couple?
