March 13, 2015 1:53 PM - Season 1, Episode 7 - Subscribe

Panic sweeps through Fortitude as news of the second attack spreads. Dan and Morton must work together while Frank hopes the latest events will exonerate Liam. This episode aired March 12, 2015.

The aftermath of the Fork Scene in episode 7 is quickly discovered, and the fallout of Shirley's attack on Dr. Margaret sets the town on edge. Hildur goes to the mainland to look for help, but finds out Fortitude may need to stand alone. Dan and Morton finely team up on the investigation, and bring their combined powers to the interrogation room. Markus falls under the town's suspicion, and ends up in a bit of a bad spot with Frank. The town is on the edge of mob rule. Carrie makes it back home, as does Ronnie, but separately, and Ronnie suffers an unknown fate by a mysterious figure.

The A.V. Club gives the episode an 'A' in its review, though they insist this was episode 8. Oh, A.V. Club...

Adding to the many things I don't understand...
Someone bashed Ronnie on the head, wouldn't there be blood in the living room? And why play old home movies to lure him in? And he and daughter have been snowmobiling around for days and yet he can walk home and arrive before the daughter?

What did Tucci pull out of his jacket pocket? It looked like a tooth, a mammoth tooth?

I understand the symbolism of Fortitude being cut off from outside help, but it still seems unrealistic that "budget cuts" would prevent the mainland government from sending a doctor.

oh wait, maybe it was Ronnie's cousin who attacked him, mad because Ronnie sawed off the tusk. That would explain the personal touch with the home movies, although it doesn't explain how he or *anyone* knew Ronnie was on his way back to town in time to have the projector set up and running.

People of the future who can binge watch this are so lucky.

I'm pretty sure the thing Tucci was playing with was the bullet he got from the Russian guy.

yeah, that was the bullet.

Not much happened in this episode - mostly filler, shuffling the pieces around.
