The Messengers: Strange Magic

A group of people who have been affected by a meteor strike, all arrive at a hospital in Houston and learn more about what has happened to them.
Despite it probably being a pretty obvious choice, I did like the pairing up of Joshua the televangelist & Vera the atheist.
I'm finding it hilarious that the police haven't caught up with Erin, Amy & Raul yet. There's an Amber Alert out on Amy, with Erin as the kidnapper. Raul has the corrupt DEA agents after him, and now the police. Yet they just keep on driving around in the same car. Hee.

Aaaand we're canceled. Oh well. I'll probably keep watching until they burn them all off.

Questions: what is the Devil's accent? It seems to change from phase to phase, at times inspired by Tommy Wisseau.
And seriously, I won't miss this one. It's so heavy-handed, I half expect some God character to appear in a few episodes, complete with flowing, white beard. I get it, it's network TV, subtlety isn't the name of the game, but the Devil's talk about moving pawns and misdirection while playing the the vet for double-or-nothing, of course he's going to win, and of course the guy was important but won't make it. HE PLAYED CHESS WITH THE DEVIL. If he's reduced to taking a chance on horses, he's no match for the Prince of Darkness.
