Welcome to Night Vale: 69 - Fashion Week

It's Fashion Week, Night Vale's hippest event. Who will be spared from the sphere? Plus, ongoing investigations into the disappearances at the Shambling Orphan housing development, an update on the opera house, and an important News announcement.

I asked her about any girls or boys she might be interested in, and she diverted me politely but awkwardly to other subjects. I let her. It’s not for me to pry, that’s the government’s job. And if I’m ever curious, I can look at the public registry of middle school crushes, which is constantly being updated via mind scanning satellite.

So, is Cecil Baldwin (the actor) leaving then? As much as I like alternative format episodes, it won't be Night Vale without Cecil.

He's moving to the desert otherworld, but radio is forever. So I'm guessing he's still doing a show that maybe the producers can make so that we can hear...

BUT WITH KEVIN?!?! He seems to be pretty under control and there's only a little bit of blood....

Is Night Vale a good town? Um............

Yeah, I dunno. Time to go look on the reddit board.

Also, interesting that he cites the whole mayor drama as a reason to leave.

Unfortunately, I have long since lost the ability to discern who is and isn't Joseph Fink, so I'm not sure I can trust that tweet.

There have been breaks from Cecil before, like when Strexcorp took over, and, obviously and recently, when the possible ghost of Leonard Burton guest hosted.

Note that Cat Ballou, the movie which Cecil and Janice watched five times, is the movie for which Lee Marvin won an Oscar for Best Actor. (BTW, happy 30th birthday to Mr. Marvin!)

The opening of the new Old Night Vale Opera House is scheduled for June 15 (i.e., next episode). I wonder if that might put a crimp in Cecil's plans to move away. Especially since the Faceless Old Woman Who Secretly Lives In Your Home is vowing revenge against both Mayor Cardinal and Cecil on opening night.

And since Cecil is actually owned, possibly by the man in the tan jacket.

I keep coming back to the idea that Cecil will be recreating Night Vale in the Desert Otherworld, and that his first broadcast will be his first intern broadcast from Best Of.

For that to make sense then the broadcast would have to be on Lee Marvin's 30th birthday, which would seem unlikely, since he just turned 30.

Happy Birthday, Mr. Marvin!
