I forgot this one was starting. I wanted to take a look to see if it's something I'll want to try and follow...unlike Wayward Pines. So...Was this first episode promising?

I think it was. I'm definitely going to stick with it for a while. But I was coming into it with super-low expectations* so YMMV.

* - I saw the commercials so often my pre-show feeling about went from "hmmmm, intrigued" to "shut the little girl up please"; that said, the young actress plays the 'holy shit this kid is scary' fairly well and the show hasn't overplayed that part yet.

Yeah, my expectations are (still) super low, but so far, I'm digging this. The mystery is compelling, and Abby Ryder Fortson is better than someone her age has any right to be. IMO, it's way better than Whispering Pines (or, as Mr. Palmcorder and I call it, "M. Night Shamalyan's 'Lost.'")
