UnREAL: "Return"

The crew of 'Bachelor'-style reality TV show 'Everlasting' are surprised by the return of freelance svengali producer Rachel, who suffered a major meltdown on set last season.
With disobedient contestants, cut-throat colleagues and a less-than-thrilled 'suitor' to wrangle, can Rachel turn it around?

I was very surprised by how good this was. Not quite, like, HANNIBAL level of surprise but that the series airs on Lifetime did give it a boost in the surprise-o-meter rankings.

I feel like I should say something since I wanted this show on FanFare but I'm not sure I have anything to say.
This was a really promising episode and I really hope the series lives up to the potential. I particularly like the way that everyone is sympathetic by the end of this episode except maybe the producer dude.
Also I want Rachel's jacket.

I jumped on this after hearing it praised on Pop Culture Happy Hour and am definitely impressed with the layers of characterization. (Well, except for Quinn, whom I think takes a while to seem like more than just a caricature of "soulless producer-monster.")
Rachel especially has me interested, as she initially gives the impression of someone who's just doing the job despite it contravening her values... and yet it turns out that she thrives in an atmosphere where she can manipulate people and use her bedraggled, real-talk persona for villainous ends.
