Fringe: Lysergic Acid Diethylamide

Olivia gets a shock. Walter orders up a megadose of his favorite hallucinogen. Peter responds to Broyle's Bald of Awesome. Peter and Walter have an animated conversation.
There are bits of this one that are good fun, like Broyles having inadvertently ingested some LSD, but overall - yeah, I know doing the whole thing live action would have blown their budget, but I don't love that animation. Kind of caricaturish really. Reminds me a lot of the Patrick Troughton-era Who which was done in a similar fashion to fill in gaps. I understand, and I guess it's better than nothing, but I don't like it much. Animation is much better when it doesn't try to be real people.
I do quite like though that Peter isn't fooled by the different versions of Olivia when they finally get to her house. He can tell that the adult version isn't the real one. I think this shows that he has been paying more attention, actually getting to know her properly, and makes for a nice contrast with Olivia's hurt that he couldn't recognise Fauxlivia as faux.
And "he's the man who's going to kill me" ?!!?! Talk about a cliffhanger. It has now been so long since my first watch that I really can't remember if I know what that's all about or not. Better keep rewatching I guess! (See, there is a plus side to not having the best memory - it means you can rewatch things and be surprised all over again!)

Loved watching Broyles in his brief moments during this episode, and his line "I have seen death and it was me" was fascinating, given his alternate's death in "Entrada" earlier in the season. Also Peter's sort of quietly horrified revelation when he sees Broyles bald head: "I think he is an Observer." :D
So long, Bellivia. Don't let the red door hit you on your way out.
