With Juliette's starring role in the Patsy Cline bio-pic, she is at an all-time career high, but is hitting a personal low. Meanwhile Avery, separated from Juliette, tends to baby Cadence at his parents' home in Texas.

I thought Avery is in Ohio?

On the one hand, it was SUPER satisfying to have the show finally point out that Rayna is a terrible businesswoman!

OTOH, it feels like they can't find anything new to do with Juliette. Granted, HP is amazing when she's playing the losing-control-mean-girl, but... I swear that "hitting a personal low" is all they can come up with.

I'm officially already tired of Rayna's girls, adorable as the Stellas are in real life.

I just knew Deacon was okay even when Rayna woke up in an empty bed and we didn't get to see him for a while. How clever am I.

Juliette sure does being cutting well. On the Layla and Jeff shenanigans - "I didn't think I could think any less of you, but there you go making it happen."

Will didn't look too pleased about the Three Men and a Baby situation.

Oh Scarlett. Juliette may break Rayna's heart but you lady, you break mine. That was a great duet with Gunnar.

Steven Tyler caught me off guard.

OMG Steven Tyler's face freaked me out.

I actually liked Scarlett's actions here, or at least was happy to see someone actually verbalizing what it is they want (or don't want) in a relationship. Gunnar was being kind of a manipulative jerk, especially with his attempted guilt trip of "I cancelled my trip to Texas for you (without asking you)."

Juliette's line to Layla was the best of the night! Oooh, burn.

I think Deacon may have killed his sister just by suggesting that he wouldn't marry Rayna until his sister can be in the wedding.

Oooh, good call, though I think Beverly will survive to guilt trip all of them some more first.

Ugh, I was so sick of the Scarlett/Gunnar crap last season and was really hoping they would move on from it. I am glad Juliette is back out in the world, even if it's still to be dysfunctional, and I hope we get to hear more of her new stuff.

You know, if they got rid of everybody else, just kept Gunnar, Avery and Will as roommates, focussed on their struggles to make it in the Nashville music scene, with girl/boy-friends as ocassional guests, and Rayna as the wise older woman who comes around to give them advice every episode, this show would be soooo much better.
