Jimi Dini is a video game designer finishing up his latest game, Nirvana, when a virus infection gives the game's main character, Solo, self-awareness. Upon realizing that he's living inside a video game, Solo begs Jimi to delete him which isn't so simple since a copy of the game is on the servers of the company for which Jimi works for and thus begins our adventure....

This movie is my favorite cyberpunk movie. I remember reading that William Gibson uses the plot of his novels as a sort of camera lens to explore the universe of his fictional work. This movie is the same way.

Oh, it's also streaming on Netflix in the US, last time I checked. It's the English dubbed version. The italian version is longer but it's not a region 1 dvd so you'll have to go all cyberpunk and look up how to hack your dvd player to make it region free.

The atmosphere of this movie's great. I'll post more when I'll get a chance.

I'd never heard of this movie before, and I'll be curious what people have to say about it. A cyberpunk sci-fi movie about a video game designer trying to help a sentient game character commit suicide? That's an intriguingly strange premise!
