The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story: The Dream Team
February 16, 2016 7:54 PM - Season 1, Episode 3 - Subscribe
With a provocative strategy devised, Robert Shapiro begins putting together O.J. Simpson's legal counsel.
"Let me have the room" is an interesting choice of words when you're talking to the only other person in it.
Another fact checking website says Dershowitz was already part of the team when he went on Larry King Live. But then they also had trouble spelling chiaroscuro.
Jill Shively. I wondered how she could remember a license plate number for a car that side swiped her going in the opposite direction but after passing her, OJ was blocked by someone driving a gray Nissan according to her grand jury testimony. She says OJ leaned out the window and yelled at the driver who has never come forward. It wasn't just the tabloid show interview that sunk her, there was also a lot of confusion about the time; she only could say it was "before 11 pm" because the market closed then.

Just listening to the short clip they played, where Nicole was sobbing "he's going to beat the shit out of me"...I mean, that is terrifying. I think I have a stronger reaction to that now than I did when I was much younger.
The call was one note that struck me as false in the episode, as I don't ever remember hearing the recordings without bleeps. We were some years away from a commercial television show ending with the word "motherfucker" at the time.

Man, there are so many good performances in this thing, and it's probably more my fault than his, but I look at Kardashian and just see Ross Geller with a gray streak.

Notes from this week:
1. Courtney B. Vance is mesmerizing. I'd watch him all day.
2. Here is the New Yorker article (written by Jeffrey Toobin) that they have in the episode.
3. I remember seeing those issues of Newsweek and Time side by side.
4. I remember the 911 call being played everywhere at the time. But hearing it again now, over 20 years later, provoked an almost visceral reaction in me (though I'm pretty sure it was a recreation and not the real recording). Just listening to the short clip they played, where Nicole was sobbing "he's going to beat the shit out of me"...I mean, that is terrifying. I think I have a stronger reaction to that now than I did when I was much younger.
