Extra reading?

Would anyone in the Potter reread club be interested in adding in Rainbow Rowell's Carry On once the series re-read is completed? It's so directly a meta-commentary on the Potter storyline that I'd be curious to see what people think, and I know from threads on the blue that at least a few of the mefite Potter fans have read it.

The Magicians comes to mind as another work that can be read as a Potter commentary but a) the books are being covered pretty thoroughly on the series' TV show page and b) I'd say it belongs with His Dark Materials in the category of C.S. Lewis commentary more than Potter.

I'd be interested in other suggestions. There are endless magical school stories but it's how directly Rowell is responding to and twisting certain elements of the Potter books and the "Chosen One" trope that interests me most.

I'd certainly be interested in discussing that after finishing the series! If I've counted correctly, that puts the Rowell book in August.

Count me in! Never heard of it before this, but ever so intrigued. You had me at "meta-commentary."

I do always reread Carry On after I've reread any of the Potter books, so count me in as I join your club rather late.
