Gravity Falls: The Golf War
August 19, 2014 3:01 PM - Season 2, Episode 3 - Subscribe

After being belittled by Pacifica one too many times, Mabel challenges her to a miniature golf-off which gets a tad out of control when some local residents offer their help.

Loved this episode. Especially the bonding between Mabel and Pacifica at the end of the episode.

Yeah, humanizing Pacifica a little is a good step toward further expanding the world, etc. I'd love to see more with her parents. But come on, the best part was the "a little girl got BURNED" bit. Xyler and Craz and Mabel's imagination = one of my favorite recurring things.

Was there not a new ep tonight? I'm having trouble with the Disney/Disney XD airings (and finally just got an Amazon subscription to make sure I don't miss an ep).

I didn't realize the title was a pun until several days after watching the episode...

I'm glad Pacifica Northwest is getting some character development. And I will never tire of that character name.

leesh, Wikipedia says the next episode airs on Disney XD on September 8.

I feel really bad for that miner who died.

Only problem for me this episode: Dutch people don't yodel and don't use alphorns. The clogs and folk-dresses where spot on for Volendam.

Xyler and Craz are great, although I haven't yet been able to figure out how Mabel is so into these 80s/early 90s guys, given that she would have been born in 2002.

Was that the duck formerly known as Duck-tective that flew off with one of the lilliputtians!?

They're from some VHS tape she has! And obviously Stan is still gonna rock a VCR.

Yes, that totally makes sense!

My kiddo and I just got into/caught up with GF this last week. He is a big fan and I have been sucked in.

The Season 1 convenience-store episode is still my favorite though, the creepy golf-ball people (and mystery car food) were good in this one.

How much time has passed in-show? There were 20 episodes in Season 1 and 3 so far, so...a month, maybe?

I recall seeing somewhere that the idea was that there would be three seasons, with each season being roughly one month of in-show time. I have no idea if that was an official statement or if things have changed since then, but it seems like a good guideline for measuring the time. So I would agree with you, about a month.
