The Great British Bake Off?

Are there enough British fanfarers to merit posts about The Great British Bake Off, which is now heating up after 3 eliminations?

As far as I'm aware the show is not televised in the US, and so the discussion would be limited to those who can access British television or BBC iPlayer.

British TV forums are pretty rubbish, in my experience, and quite a lot of the comments revolve around irrational hatred for contestants (such as the backlash against Ruby Tandoh last year). I just wanna discuss the pretty cakes with MetaFilter. So, if you are a fan, wave your hand and I'll aim to make a post shortly after broadcast on Wednesday.

(Also, I don't know if there are any mod regulations regarding Fanfare posts for shows that are not accessible the US...)

I've been watching GBBO, so you're not alone. I'm not sure that I'll have much to say about it, though. It's hard to see how one could develop a hatred for any of the contestants, but then again, there was some kind of "unforgivable transgression" hinted at in the teaser for next week's episode, hey? Drama! Nope, don't want to talk about it. Pretty cakes.

I'm a fan! But I'm a bit behind -- I've only seen the first episode of this series. Gotta catch up. I'm here in the US where most people don't get to see it, but we have a small group of people who get together and watch, usually bringing baked goods to enjoy.

FYI: I make posts about shows that are not officially accessible in the US, and the mods are okay with it. For anyone determined enough, it is no big deal to find non-US shows on the inet - they float around the various streaming sites. The Great British Bake Off is no exception. Have fun discussing!

Have just discovered there's a season of this on Netflix, and have enjoyed 2 episodes of drool-worthy antics so far.
