April 17, 2016 7:55 PM - Season 2, Episode 2 - Subscribe

Jacqueline returns to New York and tries to figure out life as a divorcee. Anna Camp does an amazing guest star turn as one of those wives. Xan is back and depressed. Titus runs into that construction worker from season 1.

God, I loved Anna Camp in this. Wasting her poli sci brains on this, genuinely having no damn idea if she's being mean or using her brain or what.

I also liked bringing back Mikey the construction worker and his admiration for wardrobe.

Oh yeah, and Kimmy got attacked by a squirrel?

One must admire the Chuck Lorre and Tilda Swinton artwork in this episode.

I nearly died at the Icarus line. My wife nearly died at the Robin Hood line.

This was a much funnier episode than the first one of the season, and served as a great reminder of why it was that I enjoyed the first season overall on balance, even if it was kind of weirdly racist overall toward basically every minority other than black people?

This is where things start coming together for the second season. Mikey's return is a great scene setting up more good stuff to come, and even though Jane Krawkowski herself is kind of hit and miss Jacqueline's ridiculous rich-people world and supporting cast just sing. Sometimes literally.

I've only watched the first two episodes so far, and after the first ep I was afraid that my wife had been right about Season One and that this show actually sucks, but this episode really clawed it back from the edge for me. I like the Kimmy-vs-Xan relationship because I think the Kimmy character works best when she can't figure out if she's 15 or 30, not just the "naive but incredibly optimistic midwestern girl". And I loved the scene with Titus and Mikey at the end in every respect.

I didn't know Anna Camp from anything else but she's amazing in this. All of the supporting characters from Jacqueline's world are great really. Mikey is a great character I'm glad to see more of. I really like Xanthippe as a character and I'm really impressed with Dylan Gelula playing her. It seems like a reasonably simple character but she does a lot with a little line reading or expression. It's great to see Kimmy with her since in so many ways Kimmy is frozen in time right around her age.

Casting Anna Camp as Jacqueline's foil was inspired.

Clinging to the Wreckage: definitely check out Anna Camp's performance in True Blood!

Here's [youtube] a highlight.

Titus and Mikey make me so happy. There was nothing like this on television for people like me when I was a kid, and now it's just there.

I pretty much lost my shit at the reference to Quick Change, a wonderful movie that thankfully retains a cult following.
