The Amazing Race: Monkey Dance!
April 30, 2016 6:35 AM - Season 28, Episode 10 - Subscribe

There are 5 vaguely famous Social Media people racing in Indonesia on a race around the world.

This episode featured: sleeping on a boat, diving for clues, hubris, farmers’ tans, a dancing monkey, scattered clues, people not realizing clues are clues, sarongs, harvesting seaweed and/or hauling chickens and coconuts, the dreaded double U Turn, a bouncing bridge, paddleboard purveyors, actual strategic thinking, jumping into the blue lagoon, gorgeous rock reefs, one butt-first landing, and a gorgeous temple.

May we never hear of Blair and Brody again.

HOORAY! Now if we can just get rid of the dancers, I'll be comfortable with the remaining teams being not-dysfunctional enough to support winning.

Still gunning for Burnie and Ashley, though.

As soon as Tyler and Kory got into first place, the outcome was a lock. The only question was whether or not Burnie and Ashley could have beaten them for first.

I was surprised no one went for the seaweed challenge, because it looked a lot easier than carrying all those coconuts. One of the weaker teams might have improved their finish if they had.

Here at Chez Julen, we all would have gone seaweed. It seemed to us to be clearly the best choice.

Nice to see the U-Turn (x2!) used a little more strategically than usual.

I think there was one time in a previous season — fairly recently, just a season or two ago — where teams hit on the strategy of deliberately burning the second of a double U-turn on a team that had already passed it in order to stick it to the first U-turned team.
