Christian has to go to either ballet school or jail. It's six of one and half a dozen of the other.

It's not immediately clear how Christian winds up in a police chase scenario, and it seemed random at the time and even forced for the sake of a "ooh disadvantaged kid" narrative, but it does get a good explanation much later on and it's really handled well over his entire arc.

They also start with what seems like a cliche "midnight dancing the existential crisis away" sequence, but intercutting it with Christian's police chase is really poignant on second watch.

This was the start of Tara's romantic subplot merry-go-round, which I found tedious.

This is also the episode where I started to like Sam at least as much as I like Kat - he's a really great guy, good to everyone who comes his way.

I can understand why boarding schools have a room-sharing policy because kids without parents could be slashing their wrists alone in their room, etc., but this episode has only strengthened my conviction that bedroom-sharing is completely barbaric.

Also, why do these kids not choose stronger passwords.

I honestly think I would genuinely go batshit crazy if I had a) a roommate, and not only that but a roommate who could b) crack my passwords whenever she wanted and read everything on my laptop. There would literally be NO privacy left at all.

In fact, the school should make that kind of breach a disciplinary issue on a par with stealing. I'm guessing the reason they don't is because they're clueless.
