Holy shit, they're gonna kill Hiram. All of him. Even Violet.

What, nobody else is commenting on this?!

I don't mind spoilers really. Also, I have a bunch of podcasts I listen to on my way to work and the new The History of the English Language won for yesterday's commute. Reading this thread was a way for me to tell whether I should jump Night Vale up ahead of the new Presidential podcast for today's drive.

Sidenote: I decided I should! Substantive comment to come after work today. :-)

"That's justice"

Man, that ending was something. Poor violet.

Never thought I would feel bad for a literal 5 headed dragon! I have a feeling he/they may be alright...this is Night Vale after all....

Also I loved the shout out to The Black Tapes podcast in the beginning (though the implications of them now being part of a shared universe is disturbing).

Ok, so!

I kept thinking about the Hiram vs. The Strangers situation. Did The Strangers infiltrate the jury so that they could declare Hiram guilty and get rid of him? Or was Hiram's comment that he was the only one who could beat The Strangers just bluster?

The implications of shooting the 4 guilty heads kinda turned my stomach a little! Suppose they do it. Does Violet die instantly, or is it more like The Human Centipede (which is where my thoughts went immediately, ew)? Wouldn't it be better to just shoot Violet as well? Unless, how does Violet know that killing the other heads would kill her as well? Maybe this was a ploy by Violet to finally be free of the other heads? Cecil did say that she looked satisfied at the verdict. Doesn't explain why she would be freaking out at the death sentence though.

Also, did anyone else notice, Cecil called her the purple head once!

I dunno, I can see the logic of "well, he can survive with one head and the rest of his body, right?"as opposed to "just shoot 'em all."

Also, how can you tell if purple head is a girl compared to the other heads/rest of the body or not?

Oh! I thought that Cecil refers to Violet as "she", but in the quote I was thinking of, the "she" means the judge:

Violet howled that she couldn’t do this, that he was not charged with any crime, but no one intervened.

My mistake!

I feel like we are in a brave new awesome world where I am apologizing for misgendering a fictional head of a fictional five headed dragon.
