First off, that intro fight sequence was amazing. Worth the price of admission there alone.

Second, the turn with Eugene at the end? Shocking in a more-simple way than I expected from the show. There's a lot of hubris that's been building, and I'm excited to see it all come crashing down.

That was a great episode! That fight scene was just fantastic - even my jaded 18yo dughter was impressed.

Oh man the fight scene was so worth it. I loved the hotel room full of bodies at the end, delightful.

I am on tenterhooks for Jesse's big fuck up with his power, which I assume is right around the corner. Everything has been building towards some epic "and now everything goes horribly wrong!" I have high expectations.

I've enjoyed all the episodes, but even so the last two were a huge jump forward in quality. And yeah, that fight scene ... I rarely like fight scenes, but that one was epic. 2014 had the single track shot in True Detective, 2015 had Daredevil in the hallway, and 2016, so far, belongs to the battle in the Sundowner.

Though my favorite scene was still Jesse and Cassidy doing laundry.

I never liked Eugene as a character, those last two scenes of his (in the tunnel watching fireworks, and whatever happened to him in the church) were absolutely beautiful and tragic.

I'm a bit worried about Tulip. She is too cool to have her story be reduced to I just want my boyfriend back.

It's also interesting that Jesse and David Tennant in Jessica Jones kind of have the same power, at least at this point. I'm not sure which character came first in the written world, or if one influenced the other.

Ad this is a huge stretch, but the back story of an angel and a demon falling in love and having a baby totally reminded me of the love story in Saga!

I like the comedy in this episode... Did Seth Rogen get replaced?

Rogan probably choreographed the fight scenes.

And what the hell are they doing with all those bodies??

The fight scene started out amazing, until you realized that Jesse, of course, was never going to be stabbed. Which just makes it look silly.

I'm still not sold on the show, though will admit that this episode was better than most. It's been slowly paced, which has been a distraction. Add that to the gleefully juvenile antics and the show tends to sit on the DVR for a day or two before I get around to watching it.

They do both rock the "enemies falling in love" element, though of course Preacher came first.

And technically, Preacher is a sequel to a Hellblazer comic, though they never admit it.

That fight scene was one of the best I've ever seen, right up there with the hallway fight scene in Daredevil season 1. I was sure they had everything under control once they had her restrained, but when Cassidy came in I thought, "Oh boy, this is NOT good." And sure enough...

I can't wait for the next episode - now that the Preacher is starting to realize just what he can do, I wonder if he's going to try and find a way to get Eugene back.

That fight scene. The ending. This show is delightful.

I liked this episode but I feel so anxious about all the kids in town and what will happen to them.

I've been waiting for Jesse to accidentally Voice up some kind of horrible idiom that would be really, really bad to have literally happen, and here we are. Wasn't expecting it to be Eugene, and wasn't expecting it to be "Go to Hell". (I thought Jesse was gonna tell Confederate Reenactor Guy to go fuck himself.)

I'm a bit worried about Tulip. She is too cool to have her story be reduced to I just want my boyfriend back.

Haven't seen the next episode yet, but it seemed like this episode was about her getting over that?

No way. She's using Cassidy for revenge.

Yeah, but I figured she was using him for revenge against Carlos. Does seem more likely she's going for revenge against Jesse, though.

The Purple Man came first - a Daredevil issue in the '60s.

Just saw this. In light of his fate at the end, I retrospectively loved that Eugene's moment of joyous wonder was underground, looking at fire...works.
