I didn't know quite what to make of this episode; it felt kinda out of place in a way? Walt is always the competent one, but I felt this episode pushed that too far (Walt is hypercompetent) and just didn't know what to do with Vic, sadly. I mean, Vic is the fish-out-of-water character a lot of times on the show, but it would be nice to see her handling this situation with a level of competence and control as opposed to being emotional.

I like when the show uses Walt's quiet observational nature and depth of knowledge and experience to demonstrate the essential differences between him and Branch (or other police), but when they thrust him into being an action hero it just doesn't work as well for me; part of what I think I like about Walt is that he's capable of violence and rough action but that isn't the path he generally takes. So to see him charge up a mountain in a blizzard was kinda...meh.

I think this is the first episode I ever watched. It really made an impression: Walt hallucinating in the cold, Vic punching an FBI agent.

I accidentally started watching this show starting with the second season. That was confusing.
