JJ and Kenneth go exploring on their own and discover they're an inspiration to strangers, which winds up scoring them free food and baseball tickets. Meanwhile, Dylan and Ray try to persuade their mom to let them play paintball, but Maya wonders if the family can have fun without JJ.

Personal ranking of episodes, best to worst: 1-3-4-2.

The show is funnier when it is staking out through dialogue how this family can be both weird/terrible and relatable/wholly-goodhearted. It's less successful on zany sitcom gags.

I have a lot of inchoate feelings about this show. Something worth pointing out is: they're doing a great job of being funny without being offensive.

Ratings are holding steady.

There's an absence of meanness in the show's humor that I really enjoy - like, that whole "we're not assholes, we're idiots" runner holds true throughout.
