Sarah Shahi! So strange to see her all smiles and rom-com-ish, after all those seasons of Person of Interest (and before that, Life).

Kind of disappointed with the Will storyline, after showing us such a positive relationship between Will & Ginny previously this felt like manufactured drama.

I loved seeing kangaroo court, and I thought seeing Mike weigh going to another team was good. Any semblance of a romance between Ginny and Mike leaves me totally cold. I hate that. Trade him to Chicago, and I'll pretend he's David Ross.

There's no way he's traded, because that's not how network TV works. Sorry if that's too meta, but I can never really divorce the in-world events of a show from my real-world understanding of, well, anything. Cliffhanger ending where a major character played by a well-known actor might be dead (or sent away)? Hahaha no. I don't think so. Unless the actor got a better gig, pregnant, or hit by a bus.

Well, we've only got 2 episodes left in the season - I'm trying to keep my expectations of closure low, since the odds for a season 2 seem slim.

The cancel bear doesn't seem too rough on Pitch, and it's owned by Fox and co-sponsored by MLB, and got a lot of critical acclaim, and none of the actors were in huge demand when the show started, so I feel okay about a season 2 despite the low ratings.

The people I know personally are reacting to the show in entirely different ways than people on TV forums or in fannish spaces. They're watching mostly for the Mike Lawson character. If he leaves, they're probably not going to stick around for a season 2--the ensemble cast is good but the show's value above replacement show is about 0.1.

If Fox renews it, it's going to be because the show is working to promote FS1 and Fox's MLB rights. I'm still amused by Enberg and Grant appearing in front of an FS1 logo when the real games are on Fox Sports San Diego.

Oh, there's zero chance that Lawson will be traded, and I know that. I just would rather the writers came up with a better plot for Lawson/Ginny than a romance.

Wait, the manager's daughter was Sarah Shahi? I didn't recognize her AT ALL.
