I've been watching this series since the start, but I find myself slowly losing interest. I don't care that much any more about Liz, or Berlin, or the procedural...pretty much the only thing that keeps me watching at this point is Spader's wonderful performance as Red. I'm not sure how much longer that'll carry me, though.

I really enjoyed the end of last season because I hated Tom so much that it was glorious watching him get run down. There's no sense of a ticking bomb now and so the show just seems to plod.

"Lizzie, don't be absurd - I don't have any friends" as Heal plays in the background. We've abandoned subtlety.

I missed the entire second season, but I don't care. I'd watch Spader read the phone book.

That said, I do want to know what was done to his wife. Last shot of her and Berlin together we saw a nasty sharp thing.. and then she said nothing. Did he cut out her tongue?

Also, anyone know what that incredible song was in the opening scene?

I agree the momentum has weakened. But I'm not pessimistic yet. Spader still has great lines. I wish the scene between him and Stormare had been more consequential, but I'm heartened that they put it in episode #2 instead of holding it until midseason.

If it goes down, it's a victim of success. It's flooded with new characters—and you can't not use cast like Stormare or Parker—because everybody wants to join a hot show; and the Netflix deal basically guarantees a third season, which takes a lot of pressure off the second season, maybe too much so.

Songlist

I can't verify (on a computer without sound tonight.)

Lovely, thank you! It is indeed Legal Tender.

What was that last scene with Liz and Blondie McFratboy? It almost seemed like they are going to try a romantic subplot. I like that in some shows, but this show could be SO GOOD without it.

I am interested and confused about this Mossad plotline. Red is so good at manipulating people to get what he wants.
