Chapo Trap House: Episode 148 - Lost In The Sauce feat. Patton Oswalt (10/9/17)

Brendan, Will and Matt imagine the Baseball Crank in an anime. Then the gang talks to Patton Oswalt about the Szechuan thing, explore Patton's Lovecraft obsession, and pitch a pedophile Die Hard movie.
Patton goes on a great little run talking about how well-done Crazy Ex Girlfriend is, while the hosts very obviously haven't seen it. It's great to listen to smart, funny people unironically praise stuff. Also he quickly goes through one of the songs in his head just to get to 'West Covina' because he couldn't remember it. Patton is charming as hell in this.

Also, this cements my desire to never watch Rick & Morty.

In related content, Matt went on The Dig to talk about the show and his view of the left in the US's relation to the Democratic Party establishment, and how that establishment is often confused for democratic base voters in anti-left conversations. He also does a pretty good job answering the valid criticism taht a lot of women find the show's format or hosts off-putting to listen to.

the thing about the death of abstract thought made me think about the earlier idea that the election finally killed postmodernism. All the masks are off, everything is real and as dumb as it looks.
also I may be saying "there is always a materialist answer for everything" a lot in the near future.
