The show is already kind of losing me. The words are kind of cool, but very on-the-nose. Also, not much happened.

WHAT IS UP WITH THE FANS.

Also, not much happened.

I loved episode 1, but it took scrolling down the fanfare page to remember that I'd actually seen another episode earlier this week.

I almost wish I hadn't read the book, so I could experience this as a mystery. Although Flynn's books are not straight up mysteries, this one does have that element. What's it like seeing it, not knowing, and when do you figure it out?

I like Dark Places so very much more, and I loved the movie with Charlize Theron.

This episode kind of burned some of my enthusiasm for the show.

However, this episode did explore pain and returning to the place of pain (the catty trio of women, the not-quite-cutting/ needlework thing).

Thought that the little boy with the revolver and meth-head cancer-patient mom was really sympathetic - intrigued as to whether he's crying wolf again.

But thanks to BibiRose for mentioning 'Dark Places' - I loved it! But the twist made me very very sad.
