Two New Zealand teenagers unwittingly summon an ancient evil entity known as The Blind One by delving into black magic while trying to escape their mundane lives.
If anyone is following along, this is, I think, the 24th horror movie I've posted in my quest to post #31horrorsforhalloween.

I'm so not able to keep up right now, but this is some fine work. Thank you. :)

Mordax, I just made an exhaustive list of tolerable scares by movie vs. tv and streaming service, if you're interested.
One of the last things I put on my own list is Deathgasm, and it's a cult classic IMO. Americans once made a similar film called The Gate that was woefully inadequate. That's because Peter Jackson hadn't yet made his instant horror/gore classic Dead Alive so Deathgasm's director could see that, draw inspiration and correct the problem.
This is sort of the platonic ideal of horror for me, in that it's equally comedic and gory/scary. Also, I feel like NZ/Aus are having sort of a horror/comedy renaissance right now? It's a good time to be a fan of things like this!
Also, the soundtrack is actually pretty great.
The music is believably good enough to drive two fans into exactly this kind of stupid bullshit scenario. So, I loved it.

While this is emphatically not for everyone, if you're the kind of person who is open to the idea of watching a New Zealand horror comedy in which two black metal loving teens summon a demon and all hell breaks loose, let me assure you that this is the best possible version of that movie.
Streaming on Amazon Prime in the US.
