Jane the Virgin: Chapter One-Hundred

The series finale! With closure, and laughs and tears, and final twists! And public transit!

The biggest GASP from my household was the reveal of the narrator's identity.

Sweet ending to a great series. Never thought I would be Team Rafael because I was so pissed at how dirty they did Michael (Charlie, ugh), but everything worked out well.

Likewise. Still, great show overall.

I KNEW MATEO WAS THE NARRATOR! HE HAD TO BE!

I'm so glad they wrapped it up in such a heartwarming way. And they killed Sin Rostro, which if they hadn't I would never have forgiven them until the sequel.

She died being impaled on a statue - didn't the very first death on the show occur in the same fashion?

yep, the dude that was Raf's best friend, I think? On an ice sculpture?

Anyway, lovely finale. Loved the silent vow reading. Yes, Mateo had to be the narrator, was the only possible option.

I finally made it to this episode after years of watching the show on an iPad in the kitchen while cooking, doing dishes, etc., and it was perfect for that kind of watching. I loved the bilingualism and how it embraced different Latin American cultures and traditions, plus the real world commentary on immigration and political stress on immigrant communities. I’m glad they wrapped up all the loose ends at the end, though in my heart of hearts I think Jane would have been a great English teacher. But that would have been a less exciting telenovela!

(I did fast forward through the ranch episode, though - that was the worst)
