Aww this was a sweet film. As a millennial, I knew this film wasn't for me and I enjoyed the hell out of it. It reminded me of not knowing anyone at my neighbors retirement party but seeing them so happy.

I love this movie.

Also, in my headcanon, Anne Hathaway is a young intern at Vogue in Devil Wears Prada, which sends her spiralling into addiction in Rachel Getting Married, and later she gets a grip on herself in Colossal, and here is where we see her apotheosis.

Don't @ me, that's the sequence of events, exactly as it happened.

i liked this movie except for the phone heist which i thought was a waste of time and just stuffed into the plot. it felt awkwardly done. the rest was really nice.

Kandinski, you left out that before Anne Hathaway was at Vogue, she gave up being a princess in a (fake) European country. Otherwise, this completely checks out.

Have none of you seen The Hustle? All of those things were just Anne Hathaway playing a long con.

I have seen The Hustle. Anne dropped all pretenses after Ocean's Eight.

I never would have expected to like this, but watched it after seeing this thread, having been compelled to check from another mefi reference.

This ain't bad. More than acceptable competence porn.

Glad that it was written well enough to give DeNiro a chance to show a little bit of his range rather than silo-ing him into a caricature of his abilities. Again.

Fookin' millenals ;)
