Mr Inbetween: Season Two
September 30, 2019 8:54 PM - Season 2 (Full Season) - Subscribe
Hired gun Ray juggles a sick brother, a new girlfriend, a tween daughter and the occasional murder and heist.
ohhhh wow. that first episode was intense. taking a bit harder tack than S1, it seems.

The one from this week was grim.
The ending, where Ray doesn't say what he is going to do, just looks at the suffering dad then clinches his jaw, turns around and stomps back into the tunnel, was perfect.

Ray is just stuck between the two sides of his nature. And probably doomed because of it.

Although at some point, you would think word would go around locally that you can't just send anybody to try and kill Ray.

Well there was a good chunk more drama this season.
I was surprised how straight they played the serial killer case, and the child abduction. I guess if part of your show is fantasies of justified violence, you might as well show the highlights.
I do keep mentally comparing this to Breaking Bad for some reason, and this show doesn't have quite the range or volume, but OTOH it is not also being so fucking godawful insufferable as Breaking Bad was about having it both ways wrt fun competent violence vs. moral hand wringing.
Lots of good acting in this show. Even when Ray was pouring gasoline everywhere in his childhood home, especially in the cooler, just the amount of anger bubbling up was perfect.
