“Brain Scramblies” observes a sacred event. The vampires of Staten Island are invited to the venerable celebration of the Superb Owl. Conspiracy theorists might think they recognize this from reports of the billionaire parties at Bohemian Grove, where a statue of such a wondrous bird guards with the warning “Weaving Spiders come not here.” Spiders drink blood just like vampires, so you can imagine the honor of getting such a coveted invitation.

There was such a strange sweet/dark thread running through this episode — Nadja's friendship with the old woman, and Lazlo's affection for his friend. And, to end it with Nadja saying she'd just get her necklace back when they were dead was just a satisfying final note.

I love Guillermo's van Helsing ancestry and how he apologizes for familiars.

If the show used special FX money to put that flare in Colin's eye when he sees the bickering couple, it was money well spent.
