I never got around to posting this thread the night the finale aired last month, but seeing as how the episode 5 thread just got a new comment I figured it would be nice to have a finish line, and somewhere to post on renewal or cancellation when the word comes down.

This show turned out to be probably my favorite of the network offerings. I hope that Fox renews it for whenever scripted dramas are able to get back into production. But if this turns out to be it, I'm grateful that the production was able to move as quickly as they did to scrap the 2nd & 3rd to last episodes and bump the finale up in the shooting schedule, giving the show a season finale that works as a series finale if need be, instead of ending stuck in limbo.

And congrats to everyone who correctly predicted the Ainsley twist.

Hah yeah so I just binged this entire season thanks to your post here oh yeah!

Loved it. I will say this though... for a guy with years of jiu-jitsu training (I leave out the kung fu training cuz that's not a grappling style) , Malcolm can't grapple worth shit. Or alternately the fight choreographers were not made aware of Malcolm's training background? Whatever the reason, I was watching the grappling scene in particular with the abusive husband dude from Montreal or whtever and I'm like "he's in your guard, sweep for god sakes! this is like first day stuff in every BJJ studio I've ever trained at. It's even in the (old) Y2K era army field manual on HTH combat!" I realize that the writers needed to have the mother save him so I get that was the end-point they had to choreograph TO but... I would have liked to have seen just a little of that training come thru? he didn't have to win, but like... muscle memory, ya know?
