I hadn't seen this movie back when it came out, and was hoping it would turn up on streaming or cable sometime after reading about it in the various Alice Wu interviews about "The Half of It", and then randomly clicking around on Prime last night, there it was.

I prefer 'The Half of It' of the two, but I'm glad I finally saw it. Joan Chen definitely steals the movie.

An excellent companion to the movie is this installment (slYouTube) of "Drunk Lesbians Watch", where our hosts watch the movie with two of the stars, Lynn Chen and Michelle Krusiec. More of a highlights reel, at 23 minutes long, but it's fun to watch the two leads commenting on their own work from a distance of more than a decade.
