Katherine Faw's extraordinary book is "a fantasy novel for furious, anti-capitalist misandrists." [Garage]
So, I’m about a quarter of the way through the book (taking my time, reading in short chunks when time allows) I like it. But, man, is it bleak. At least so far.

I finished the book last night. I really enjoyed it, but it’s certainly not for everyone. You definitely have to have a taste for nihilism, to be sure, but it’s not overbearing.
I didn’t note the construction of the book until right at the end, when she pretty much pushes it right in your face. But that simple moment really makes the whole story bloom anew.

Spaced-out in both senses, druggy and explicit, mean-spirited in the very best way (and just “mean,” come to think of it, in its unwillingness to give the reader very much at all)
