This is pretty gross/graphic, but more Rob Zombie kind of gore than outright torture porn stuff. All the same: it's a fucking lot.

After the opening and given the premise I was hoping for more a satirical/political take. And I suppose if you squint and turn your head just so, maybe.

But mostly this is a cannibal family tortures and eats unfortunate strangers kinda deal. Hits all the marks, well made for what it is, but not my bag.

I see that Gigi Saul Guerrero made an ep of Into the Dark for Hulu. I haven't seen that one. She also directed an episode of The Purge for USA.
