The Haunting of Bly Manor: The Great Good Place
October 10, 2020 6:49 PM - Season 1, Episode 1 - Subscribe

A bright-eyed American au pair hopes to make a difference caring for two orphans in a grand English manor. Yet the feeling of dread is undeniable.

This followup to 2018's The Haunting of Hill House shares that series' writer/creator along with several actors, but tells a stand-alone story.

Vulture rates the episode 3 stars out of 5 and The AV Club gave it an A-.

The series is based in part on The Turn of the Screw by Henry James, which you can read via Standard eBooks.

Keeping everything vague because it doesn't look like there's a full season post yet, but I really loved this. I don't think it scared me quite as much as Hill House did in the early episodes, but it hit harder emotionally.

Creepy British children, creepy dolls and creepy 80s clothes. This episode had it all. Captivating but definitely day time only watching for me.
