I didn't really expect to love this movie and then totally did, mostly because it's visually amazing. It's not saying much to say that it was my favorite movie this year, because I didn't see that many movies, but I really liked it a lot.

Gorgeous filmmaking. This was one of my favorites from the past year next to Under The Skin, which I found remarkably similar. Ida is very much like an alien.

Worth seeing just for the cinematography. Digital capture (Arri Alexa camera) according to imdb.com.

This is such a beautiful movie! It works with the constraints and benefits of B&W photography and the Academy ratio.

Yeah, I thought the cinematography was beautiful. It was very engaging because of how concise-- poetic-- it was.
