So is there like a law or a rule or a union contract that says you can't have a horror or thriller or indie drama these days without a drone shot of an evergreen forest, heavily filtered to gray as an establishing shot?

Cute movie.
Decent cast. Milana Vayntrub is funny. The prolific Catherine Curtin carried a lot of weight.
A bunch of "lefty" jokes, but I didn't think that they were too mean, but sometimes not all that effective.

This was a solid B. My daughter and I really enjoyed it, and it was well worth the $6 rental. I don't think I'll ever revisit it, but it hit all the right marks competently.
The best part for me: Cecily making Finn realize he'd been dumped. But then, most of the Cecily stuff was good.

Cecily had a line I loved, something to the effect of "Yep: werewolves are real. Girls who are turned on by your whole Walden deal, though... those are a fantasy."

This was more fun than it had any right to be. An absolute blast! Would recommend.

Spouse and I really enjoyed this as well. Felt like it was really inspired by the cornetto trilogy, with its mix of fast cuts/humour/bit of action& horror/bit of commentary.
