The only good parts of the show are the reveals. The dates are painful to watch. I wanted to skip them but the reveals are better if you suffer through them.

The Ringer article linked in the post notes that the most common occupation among contestants is "model", some of the non-models are more conventionally attractive than the models. And yes, according to them, everyone is attractive.

It sounds like they've completely misunderstood the point of their own TV show. Was the entire pitch "The Masked Singer But Dating", and then some poor bastard had to work out what the hell that meant?

They should have let them mingle in a house all together, like Love Is Blind. I would also like to see a show that is all reveals.

As someone who consumes a ton of reality tv/dating shows I feel like I'm in the target audience for this and I... ehhh. I felt like the contestants weren't even faking that they were interested in finding a match, and it was more like "Let me guess who the hottest person is underneath these prosthetics." And because of this there were zero stakes. I guess I like my trashy TV to pretend it's not trashy TV.

Yeah, I'm having more or less the same experience, rogerroger. So far, panda lady is the only one who seemed to be more interested in who the person was than how they were embodied (even there, not always, and I think that it was more she just already understood they were all going to be pretty humans under the makeup than buying into a premise of finding a matching personality even if it were with someone she wouldn't immediately be attracted to), but she also seemed to think she was on the Bachelorette - she kept talking about finding her husband - which was also off-putting in a different way. Ehhh, indeed.

I'll probably finish the season, though, since there's no new seasons or countries of The Circle to watch.
