A teenage girl with self-esteem issues finds confidence in the most unlikely way, by spending her summer battling vampires.
Shawna discovers that vampires are real, when her mother is turned into one. Apparently homeless and drug addicted people are being turned into vampires, but to what end? Seeking to destroy those who did this to her mother and prevent more people from being turned, she enlists the help of her best friend, the head of the local vampire book fan club, and her crush.
